If consumers continually reject your services there is a good chance that something is going wrong. The question is: what can you do about this? Before you can fix your situation you must first determine the problem. From there, you will be able to put the wheels in motion and in turn better your chances of success in the long run. Some insurance agents get down on themselves when rejected by a consumer. And while this is natural, you do not want to stay this way for too long. Remember, you cannot sell a policy to every consumer no matter how much you offer or how good your selling skills.
Why are you being rejected? For one, you may not be saying and doing the right things. When communicating with a consumer you need to make sure that you are telling them the truth, but that you are also doing what is best from a sales point of view. This does not mean that you should lie to make a sale, but it does mean that you should do what you can to better your chance of success.
Another common reason for rejection is not conveying the right information to the consumer. In other words, you need to give the consumer what he or she wants. Some agents have a difficult time understanding what is being asked of them and then giving this information in an easy to follow format. By keeping things simple you should be able to overcome this.
Consumers are going to reject you from time to time. This is the nature of the industry, and something that every insurance agent deals with. Just make sure that you keep rejections to a minimum. This will help to ensure that you are making plenty of sales.
