ProtectorPlus compliments Sun Life's industry-leading no-lapse guarantee UL by appealing to a wide spectrum of clients seeking value and flexibility in a single product.
Sun Universal ProtectorPlus addresses a variety of individual and business needs, including estate planning, executive benefit funding, supplemental retirement income, college savings and debt reduction. The product features a Loan Lapse Protection rider for overloan protection, flexible premium payment options, and an Accelerated Benefit rider that lets customers access a portion of the policy's face amount if they become terminally ill. Sun Universal ProtectorPlus also has two industry-first policy features, included at no additional cost, that address client needs beyond just life insurance.
-- The Assist America feature protects insureds through immediate access to a worldwide network of more than 600,000 medical professionals and reimbursement for any emergency medical care expenses that they or their dependants incur 100 miles or more from home. In addition, Assist America provides complete aftercare services, including on-going case management, transportation for patients and family members, referrals to local specialists, translation services, and much more.*
-- The Charitable Giving Benefit Rider provides policyowners with a unique opportunity to do more for causes they care about by leaving a greater legacy. For policies with a face amount of $1 million or more, Sun Life Financial will bequeath an insured's designated charity with an amount equal to 1% of the death benefit (over and above the policy death benefit), up to a limit of $100,000.*
"The market for universal life products is very favorable," said Michele Van Leer, Sr. Vice President and General Manager, Individual Insurance Division for Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, the issuer of this product. "Sun Universal ProtectorPlus' strong combination of price, cash value and product features is an attractive choice for many consumers.
