May 14, 2008 (FinancialWire) Brazilian aircraft maker Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica S.A. (NYSE: ERJ) will spend $50 million to build a facility to assemble and finish small business jets in Melbourne, Fla.
Embraer said the facility is expected to employ 200 skilled workers by 2011.
The 150,000-square-foot plant will contain a final assembly line capable of producing Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 executive jets, along with a paint shop and customer design center.
Shares of Embraer fell 30 cents to close at $41.16 Tuesday.
