Washington, DC -- Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter praised President Obama and the Administration's directive to offer temporary federal firefighters access to health insurance benefits like other federal employees receive.

"Many of the firefighters in Colorado work on contract and part time with the federal government to protect our forests, communities and families. Every year, they stand strong in unimaginable conditions and risk their own lives to protect and save our lives and property. Ensuring these brave first responders have access to quality, affordable medical care is the right thing to do and is essential to our safety," said Perlmutter.
