AUSTIN, TX - September 18, 2012 – Ms. Maggie Tirschman, CIC, CISR, Account Manager for M3 Insurance in Madison, Wisconsin, has just been awarded the most prestigious honor available to insurance customer service representatives: the 2012 National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award.
The Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) and the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) selected Ms. Tirschman as the winner of this award from a field of 37 state winners. After five finalists were chosen from this field, a blue-ribbon panel of five judges evaluated the finalists based on their individual contributions to the insurance community, and the strength of their essays written on the topic: “Given the emphasis that many of your Commercial Lines and Personal Lines clients place on price, identify and explain four (4) important actions your companies have taken, or could take, to help you and your agency become more competitive.”
Maggie Tirschman was praised by an associate as “a stand-out asset on the team. Her positive attitude, consistent dedication, and perpetual efforts to improve the client experience help to provide our clients with valuable and timely information that positively impacts their business.”
In her essay, Ms. Tirschman cited four ways that companies could help to make agencies more competitive: (1) better understanding the client and the issues they face on a daily basis; (2) managing risk by providing focused solutions that are tailored to each client’s needs; (3) improving communication between companies and agencies; and (4) partnering insurance companies and agencies together in education and training, making themselves an asset to each other and the customer.
Ms. Tirschman receives a cash award of $2,000, a distinctive gold and diamond lapel pin, and her name is inscribed on a sculpture on permanent display at The National Alliance headquarters in Austin, Texas. A scholarship will be awarded to her employer, M3 Insurance for participation in any National Alliance program.
In addition to the selection of Maggie Tirschman as the national award recipient, four national finalists were chosen from a particularly competitive field of applicants:
