NORMAL, Ill., Feb. 22 -- Illinois State University issued the following news release:

The Illinois State University Board of Trustees today renewed the University's student health insurance plan contract with Aetna Student Health. The renewed contract covers the 2013-2014 plan year.

The Board of Trustees also approved the student health insurance rate of $218 for the fall 2013 and spring 2014 sessions and $165 for the summer 2014 session. The figures represent a 6.9 percent increase over the 2012-2013 rates. A portion of that fee increase will be held in reserve to help manage the cost of Affordable Care Act-mandated prescription drug coverage in the 2014-2015 policy year.
