Rio Vista ISD still recovering from April tornado damage
During Monday's board meeting, trustees received a storm damage update from Wright.
"We're still finding a little bit more damage the more we look," Wright said.
Wright spent most of Tuesday morning on the high school gym roof with insurance adjusters examining damage caused by the

Wright said he hopes to have most of the damage fixed by the end of the school year or at least by the start of the 2015-16 school year.
"Our board members are concerned but I've been upfront about everything we've found and we know we're going to make it," Wright said. "Once we get through this we're going to be in better shape than before.

But inside the school there's been minimal damage just some leaking problems. Martin said students have been helpful withe clean up but he doesn't want it to be a distraction.
"That first day after the tornado storm we came together to pick up the branches and everything else we could. The next day we kicked back right up and like most teenagers its just a memory now," Martin said. "They are concerned but we want to keep the distraction to a minimal."
With the scattered thunderstorms in recent days, Wright and his principals have been constantly watching the radar. The district sent students home early one day last week because of heavy rainstorms.

On Saturday night, the high school hosted After Prom for the seniors. That night there was heavy rainstorms so Wright and Martin tried best they could to get home safely.
"It's more about safety than anything else," he said. "Most of my kids live out in the country where the roads are flooded over."

"It was great to see the school, city and community come together to support each other," Wright said.
There was a silent auction, various vendors, activities and the band.
All funds raised would go to residents in need of help as well to the city.
