There are four sections to the film policies – general liability, (rented) equipment, auto, and workers’ compensation. Most venues and all the film permit offices require the general liability. One of the first underwriting questions is “are there any stunts?” Having a “risky element” in the production will increase the cost or in some cases, make the risk ineligible to certain insurance carriers. “It’s all about being profitable to the insurance company…,” ads David.
