Klepper-Smith said his biggest reasons for optimism with the September numbers is that the New
"What that (growth in the labor force) speaks to are the prospects for future economic growth," Klepper-Smith said. "The labor force represents economic potential. Now, whether that potential is realized or not depends upon a whole bunch of things."
Klepper-Smith also gave positive rankings to the 0.1 percent decline of the unemployment rate for New Have Area Labor Market as well the Consumer Price Index Consumer Confidence.
But with double-digit percentage increases projected for 2017 for many health insurance plans, as well home value appreciation and wage numbers stagnant, Klepper-Smith said that may have residents nervous about what is ahead for the New Haven area.
