Cando’s crown: Harlows edge Bismarck for title

It ended up working out just fine in the end, though, as come Sunday night, they beat the Bismarck Brewers 7-1 in eight innings in the championship game. It was the fifth game of the day after play had to be halted on Saturday due to heavy rain.
"No, this is not what my expectation was," Swanson said. "I knew we had good pitching with a couple college guys we have. I thought if we swung the bats we'd be OK, but most of the guys hadn't really taken many cuts at all this summer."
One of those college pitchers was very familiar with the well-groomed

"It's a good group of guys to play with. Definitely a lot of fun."
"It was a long day, but between yesterday and today I thought we played pretty well for the most part," Swanson said. "Next year, hopefully we're able to get a few more games in before we come here, but I definitely plan on being back."
Swanson had two hits to lead
Thompson and Sheeley held the Brewers to just four singles in eight innings.
Bismarck 4, Greyhounds 3
After allowing two runs in the top of the first inning, Watson held the Jamestown Greyhounds to one run over the next six frames en route to a 4-3 win.

"It's fun. We play Sunday nights and then with playing softball, I'm able to stay in decent shape," Watson said.

"I think anything less than winning it would be disappointing," he said.
Watson allowed seven hits. He struck out six, including the side in the top of the seventh inning.
The Hounds started fast.
Levi Gaunska singled to start the game and went to second when
Jamestown's other run came in the sixth when
Gaunska had two of the Hounds' seven hits. He also went all seven on the mound, but took the loss.

Down 5-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Harlows scored five runs off rubber-armed
Leroux sailed through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth. Leroux ended up working 13 1/3 innings in the tournament, getting all but two outs in the Saints' two games.

He can play a little baseball, too.
Hagler allowed two more walks than hits. He also had five strikeouts.
The Harlows led 3-0 on Saturday when the game was halted due to the storm. They added three more on Sunday as the final four innings were played in a crisp 39 minutes.
Kodie Vote also had two hits, one of them a double.
The Townies had just four singles -- one each by
Valley City 2, Casselton 0
The
Leroux out-dueled
The Saints' second run came in the fifth.
Carpenter followed with a single to make it 2-0.
Carpenter and Olson each had two hits for the Saints.
