DENVER, July 1 -- The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development'sSalt Lake City Field Office issued the following news release:
U.S. Housing and Urban Development's Rocky Mountain Regional Administrator Rick M. Garcia today announced that James Conner has been named the new Region VIII Economic and Market Analysis Division (EMAD) Field Director. EMAD is a vital component of the Department in that it provides research support to HUD staff and client groups regarding economic conditions throughout the nation. EMAD staff produces Comprehensive Housing Market Analyses and other reports on local market conditions; market analyses of applications for HUD multifamily housing mortgage insurance, capital advances or other HUD assistance; and contributions to the quarterly U.S. Housing Market Conditions, published by HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R).
"James Conner has consistently distinguished himself as a leader among his peers since he began his HUD career as an economist in 2005," said HUD's Rocky Mountain Regional Administrator Rick M. Garcia. "We are delighted to announce his promotion as the Region VIII EMAD Field Director and anticipate the Region will benefit greatly from his expertise and leadership."
As the EMAD Field Director, Colorado native James Conner will provide economic advice and assistance to HUD's Rocky Mountain Regional Administrator, Field Office Directors, Program Area Directors, as well as to the Assistant Secretary of PD&R. He will serve as the Department's principal source of local market intelligence; represent the Department on economic and market analysis matters; manage the technical performance and resources for the assigned jurisdiction as well as supervise a team of field economists; and establish and maintain contact with government and private organizations on economic and housing market matters.
