As a result of the attack, Loving has needed multiple surgeries and has been hospitalized for infections to her thigh, all amounting to thousands of dollars in lost wages and medical expenses, Neumeyer said.

"This whole thing has just wrecked her life," Farr said, adding that Loving is a widow and mother of four children.
Loving was a certified nursing assistant, but has been unable to work since the attack because her job required physical lifting of patients, he said.

Farr said that even though the verdict has been handed down, collecting payment from the defendants may prove difficult since they have had little to no interaction with the case and now live out-of-state.
It's a remote chance that Loving will receive the full payment because the defendants did not have homeowner's insurance, which would normally take care of the payments, he said.
The pair apparently receive military retirement payments, so Farr's office is exploring whether or not those payments can be garnished.
