2 Pennsylvania Chiropractors Charged In $150K Insurance Fraud
Dec. 19--Charges have been filed against two Midstate chiropractors, who authorities say collected more than $150,000 in fraudulent insurance claims for services purported to have been provided to each other and their families.
Joseph Patrick Brady Jr., 42, of Chambersburg, and Joshua Michael Rosinski, 37, of Mechanicsburg, were charged with two felony counts of theft and multiple felony counts of insurance fraud and conspiracy after the two submitted fraudulent insurance claims for roughly four years, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.
Between 2010 and 2014 the two received more than $150,000 from multiple insurance companies for chiropractic services the two said were delivered to each other and their families, according to court records.
Rosinski operated Balanced Body Chiropractic, formerly Herman Chiropractic Clinic, in Harrisburg until he closed the office in August 2014, the Attorney General's Office said.
Brady continues to operate Brady Chiropractic, also formerly Herman Chiropractic, in Chambersburg, a grand jury report stated.
The two clinics are roughly 60 miles apart.
In 2010, Rosinski purported to treat Brady and his wife three times a week at his Harrisburg office, and Brady did the same for Rosinski and his wife at the Chambersburg location, court records show.
In October 2010, Rosinski purported to treat Brady's wife on two occasions at the Harrisburg location while Brady's wife was admitted to the Chambersburg Hospital to give birth, the grand jury report stated.
Similarly in November 2010, Brady claimed he had treated Rosinski's wife at his Chambersburg office at a time when other medical records say she was at home in Cumberland County giving birth, the Attorney General's Office stated.
In October 2011, Rosinski claimed to have treated Brady's wife at his Harrisburg office and Brady claimed to treat Rosinski and his wife at the Chambersburg office at a time when records show Brady and his family were at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the grand jury report stated.

This occurred again on multiple occasions when either of the doctors would claim to perform services on the other or his family while one family was out of the state, court records show.
Herman Chiropractic in Waynesboro closed in 2014 after its owner Lawrence Herman -- whose company was the corporate owner of Herman Chiropractic Clinics where Rosinski and Brady worked -- pleaded guilty making false statements in health care matters in December 2013.
Brady and Rosinski were arraigned Monday and released on $150,000 unsecured bail, according to court records.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 18 in front of Magisterial District Judge Richard Dougherty.
