Society of FSP Elects Officers & Directors for 2016-17
SOCIETY OF FSP ELECTS OFFICERS & DIRECTORS FOR 2016-2017
NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. - The Society of Financial Service Professionals, a multidisciplinary community of credentialed financial professionals, including investment advisors, attorneys, CPAs, insurance professionals, and experts across a variety of sectors, has elected its executive committee and five new board members for the 2016-2017 term.
Serving on the executive committee are: president, Anthony R. Bartlett, ChFC, CASL, AEP, Worcester, MA; president-elect, James S. Aussem, JD, AEP; Cleveland; secretary, Elvin D. Turner, JD, MBA, Bloomfield, CT; and immediate past president, Michael P. Dow, CPA, CLU, ChFC, AEP, Milwaukee. Joseph E. Frack, CPA, CGMA, serves as chief executive officer of the Society of FSP.
FSP past president and Nominating Committee chair Jim Christian, CLU, ChFC, commented on the extraordinary professionalism and leadership skills of the newly elected FSP Board.
Anthony Bartlett is a financial planner with the firm of Baystate Financial where he specializes in creating retirement and distribution strategies for the 50+ market. He is past president of the Worcester FSP Chapter. Anthony serves on the Society of FSP’s Young Professionals Task Force and Professional Development Committee and acts as National Advisor to the Boston, Rhode Island and Worcester Chapters. Anthony also serves on the board of the Worcester Estate Planning Council, is past president of the Massachusetts Estate Planning Council, and a past director of the Devereux Foundation, a charitable organization that helps emotionally and developmentally challenged individuals.
President-elect Jim Aussem is a shareholder of Cavitch Familo & Durkin, Co., LPA, a member of its board of directors, and chair of the Business Practice Group. His practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as succession planning, and estates and trusts. Jim is a past president of the Cleveland FSP Chapter, and received the Chapter’s Financial Service Professional of the Year award in 2014. He serves on the Board of the Foundation for FSP and has been a speaker and presenter at numerous FSP Clinics and Leadership Development Conferences, as well as many other industry meetings. Jim also serves on the Planned Giving Committees of the Cleveland Museum of Art, University Hospital and Baldwin-Wallace University.
FSP's new secretary, Elvin Turner, is president and CEO of Turner Consulting, LLC. He is a wellness advocate, offering a seminar series to corporations that enhance their health wellness programs with related wellness concepts across personal finance and the preparation for retirement. He previously served on the board of the Retirement Income Industry Association, and is past president of the Hartford Chapter of FSP. Currently he serves on FSP’s national Board of Directors and is chairman of the Board of Deacons of the Apostolic Fellowship Church. Elvin was instrumental in the development of the Society of FSP’s Achieving Financial Security program, an outreach program that brings financial education to underserved communities. A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, Elvin holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
The Society of FSP also elected five new members to its national board of directors, each of whom will serve a three-year term on the 20-member board. They are: Kathleen W. Bilderback, JD, LLM, AEP, of Affinity Law Group, St. Louis; Sandra E. Henderson, RHU, of Plan Financial in Fresno; Robert J. Keorkunian, FICF, LUTCF, CLF, of Modern Woodmen of America in Kalamazoo; Gregory W. Schlaudecker, of Emerald College Planning, in Jamestown, North Carolina; and Mary J. Schneekloth, MBA, CPM, CLU, of Kirkwood Community College, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Kathleen Bilderback is one of four founding members of Affinity Law Group. Affinity Law Group provides legal services to businesses, their owners, and their executives at all phases of the life cycle. Immediate past president of FSP’s St. Louis Chapter, Kathleen was also in charge of Mock Probate and other training and development activities. She is a past director of NAIFA St. Louis, and AALU's Business Insurance and Estate Planning and Regulatory Advisory Committee. Kathleen serves on the Foundation Board of St. Louis Children's Hospital and is chair of their Legacy Advisory Board. She also serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Enterprise Trust Company.
Sandra Henderson is owner and partner for Plan Financial where she specializes in employee benefits, specifically in health and the senior market. She is past president of the Fresno FSP Chapter, where she also served as chair of the Membership Committee. She has served on FSP's national Chapter Education Programs Task Force and has been active in NAIFA Fresno serving various roles including state president. Sandra has been volunteering at her local church for over 13 years serving as a mentor and leader to college age and young adults.
Rob Keorkunian serves as regional director for Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial where he works building and training a firm of registered financial representatives. He is immediate past president of the Society of FSP's Southwest Michigan Chapter and has served as the Chapter's University Partner Programs Chair. Rob has been a member of the Elks for 24 years, achieving Elk Citizen of the Year in 2012. In addition to the Society of FSP, Rob is a member of GAMA, NAIFA, and NAFIC.
Gregg Schlaudecker is president of Emerald College Planning, LLC, in Jamestown, North Carolina, specializing in college planning for high school and college families. He is past president of the Greensboro FSP Chapter and currently serves as the chapter executive and Webmaster. Gregg serves as director of the Better Business Bureau of Central North Carolina, director of the Greensboro Foundation for Financial Service Professionals, Inc., and was director of the Piedmont Business Ethics Award from 2006-14.
Mary Schneekloth is currently a full-time instructor of Business at Kirkwood Community College. She has a financial background in insurance, estate planning, and wealth management, and she served as a trust officer at Guaranty Bank. A past president of the Eastern Iowa Chapter, she has been instrumental in the development of young leaders on the Chapter's Board and membership growth. Mary has been active in the Rotary as well as the Estate Planning Council.
