Prosecutors charged Ratgen in October, and he pleaded guilty a month later to conspiracy to commit health care fraud, a felony. The prosecution and defense agreed a six- to 12-month prison sentence was appropriate, but Ericksen decided on 16 months, matching the sentence given in 2020 to another attorney,
Several chiropractors have been convicted, too.
